Service – Working For God
Attitude of the Servant:
- Humble
- “If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.” – John 13: 14-15
- Joyful
- “Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.” – Psalms 100: 2
- Loyal
- “No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” – Luke 16: 13
Area of Service:
- “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;” – Colossians 3: 23
Award of the Master:
- Commendation
- “His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” – Matthew 25: 21
- Crown
- “And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.” – 1 Corinthians 9: 25
Key to Discipleship:
“If ye love me, keep my commandments.” – John 14: 15
